Four exterior accents,one gloss-black finish
On this 2026 Lexus RX, four different exterior areas were finished in the same 3M 2080-G12 Gloss Black: chrome window trim, roof rails, rear lower bumper trim and the lower mirror sections. The goal was not a full color change, but a cleaner visual connection between the glass, pillars and black exterior details.

Because no complete post-install 45-degree vehicle photo was available, this case study uses the real detail photographs captured during the job. No artificial recoloring is used.

Roof rails
Matching the upper silver elements prevents the black window trim from looking isolated.
Rear lower bumper trim
Resin parts require a condition check because texture and surface treatment can affect film adhesion.
Lower mirror sections
The lower mirror accents were wrapped in the same G12 gloss black for a consistent side profile.
Rear Detail
The rear lower trim was matched in gloss black
The newly added real photographs show the rear lower bumper trim before and after wrapping. Matching this bright accent in the same G12 finish helps the rear design connect with the other blacked-out exterior details.
A visible change from the rear
Before wrapping, the bright lower trim remained a strong visual accent even after other exterior pieces were darkened.
Finishing it in 3M 2080-G12 Gloss Black creates a more continuous black theme from the tail-light area down to the lower rear section.
